As the price of green chilli started rising before Eid-ul-Azha, Agricultural Extension Department gave permission of importing the essential kitchen item. After giving the permission, green chilli was import on June 26 last for the first time. Because of the green chilli import, prices started falling again. Bogura district town's kitchen market businessmen said earlier 5 tons of green chilli came to wholesale marker every day but price hiked as supply of green chilli was lesser than demand. District agricultural extension department's deputy director Matlubur Rahman said green chilli plants were damaged massively during the last dry season but now the district sees massive production of green chilli.
