more-inThe United Democratic Front (UDF) on Tuesday staged a spectacular display of 1.08 crore signatures on banners, mounted during Leader of the Opposition Ramesh Chennithala’s one-month long Padayorukkam campaign against the Central and State governments’ ‘unpopular policies’, along the 70-km stretch between the State Secretariat and the Kollam Collectorate. All India Congress Committee general secretary Mukul Wasnik, Mr. Chennithala, KPCC president M.M. Satheeshan (main coordinator of the programme) lined up along with other UDF leaders and workers to launch the programme at 5 p.m. that lasted for three minutes. Majeed, and UDF secretary Johnny Nelloor led the show in front of the Kollam Collectorate. A delegation of Asia Book of Records handed over a certificate, memento, and medal to Mr. Chennithala, attesting a world record for the longest banner and record for the biggest signature campaign.
