1,000 families affected, 5 hurt in Mandaluyong fire


UpdateMANILA, Philippines — Around 1,000 families were affected and five hurt in a fire that broke out at a residential area in Mandaluyong City on Friday afternoon, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said. ADVERTISEMENTFire Officer I Christine Pascual said the fire started at 4:20 p.m. at Block 22 extension, Brgy. Around 18 firetrucks from different fire districts including Quezon City, Makati City, Manila City, and San Juan City responded to battle the blaze. According to BFP Mandaluyong, Senior Fire Officer 2 Luciano Regis was among those injured in the incident. The fire was declared under control at 8:20 p.m., BFP Mandaluyong Fire Chief Christine Cula said.
