The vocal lawmaker urged the Kenya Kwanza government to consider giving Opposition leader Raila Odinga an international job. According to Elisha, appointing Raila to an important role at the United Nations (UN) or the African Union (AU) could be the key to unlocking the deadlock in Kenyan politics. "Raila lost his fifth presidential bid to President William Ruto, but he still deserves to serve the world in another capacity," the MP said. Elisha suggested that Raila could be tasked with coordinating matters of climate change, an issue that is becoming increasingly urgent for African nations. This could be an honorable way of dealing with the Raila factor in Kenyan politics and at the same time quelling political tension."
