Police officers in zoned areas have commenced enforcement of lockdown as directed by President Uhuru Kenyatta. On Saturday morning, squads of General Service Unit (GSU) officers were seen on different checkpoints of Nairobi, Kajiado, Machakos, Kiambu and Nakuru counties. This is after President Uhuru Kenyatta announced a cessation of all movement by road, train or air in and out of the five counties. Heavily armed officers monitored vehicles in all the border points to ensure compliance with the State orders. Meanwhile, those who wish to travel to or from counties under lockdown have until Sunday 8pm to do so.
