more-inIn a historic judgment, the National Lok Adalat held here awarded ₹ 54 lakh to the family of a person who died in a road accident. Sangram Giri, an employee of the Education Department, died in a road accident, which came up for arbitration at the Lok Adalat. After mutual consent, ₹54 lakh was awarded to the kin of the deceased. Of the total amount, ₹ 8 lakh would be paid to the victim’s mother, while the remaining would go to his wife and three children. National Lok Adalat was held at the district court on Sunday.
