Alia Bhatt, who was honoured with the National Award for her performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi, has consistently shown her growth as an actor with each project. But her father, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, felt that she had only begun to explore what the craft truly demanded. Reflecting on her journey, he recalled encouraging her to take inspiration from one of the greatest actors of all time. In a conversation with Humans of Bombay, Mahesh shared, “Even after becoming a mother, her passion for acting remains unquenched. I am a great admirer of Meryl Streep, and I told Alia, ‘Go and see her work, and you’ll realise you have not even scratched the surface.’”
