To Danny McDonald, owner of Stone Street’s Ulysses’ Folkhouse, St Patrick’s Day has become “a bit like Halloween. Beckett’s, Ulysses’ and other Stone Street businesses, for example, collaborate to share the costs of necessities from security and promotion to outdoor bathrooms. St Patrick’s Day fun on Stone Street, ManhattanMcGarry and his Dead Rabbit partners now start planning for Paddy’s Day around Christmas. I don’t see that ending.”There’s no fear of these industry veterans becoming jaded by the occasional ‘Oirish’ excesses of St Patrick’s Day in the US.
