He tells Bjorn that he thought she was Ivar coming for him, but Bjorn is furious. He tells Ubbe that he was destined to kill Lagertha and that—even though he didn’t realize it at the time—it was vengeance for Lagertha killing their mother, Auslag. In the shadow of Prince Oleg, Ivar looks far more humane and compassionate. Oleg tells Ivar he will be sending raiding parties to Norway to learn more about the land he intends to conquer. After all those endless, awful battles last season I’m happy to have more character drama.
