“We are an unauthorized, unaffiliated, international grocery smuggling operation,” Vancouver-based grocer Pirate Joe’s jokes on its Instagram account. Popular U.S. grocery store Trader Joe’s first sued Pirate Joe’s in 2013, claiming that the retailer was infringing on its trademark. The little guy won that fight but Trader Joe’s is back with a new claim that Pirate Joe’s is failing to handle its goods properly, CTV reports. Pirate Joe’s proprietor Mike Hallatt regularly drives to Seattle, Wash. where he buys the products to re-sell to eager Vancouverites. Pirate Joe’s is one of many re-sellers – Trader Joe’s products are readily available online.
