‘They are our unforgettable heroes’

A group, The Conscience of Yoruba Nation, says on a day like this, they remember such worthy sons as, Colonel Francis Adekunle Fajuyi, Colonel Ibrahim Adetunji Taiwo, Lt. Colonel Akintunde Akinsehinwa, Brigadier Samuel Ademolegun, Colonel Victor Adebukola Banjo, Colonel Ralph Shodeinde, saying they are ‘our unforgettable heroes.”In a release signed by convener, Abagun Kole Omololu, the group maintained, “They are the heroic sons of the Yoruba nation, who were in the Nigerian Armed forces and were brutally murdered in the line of duty. Heroes, who died serving our Country Nigeria. We remember today as always.”CoYN remarked that when “people are taken from our lives, particularly before their time, in a manner out of the natural order of events, the impact is devastating. Like Children dying before their parents, parents or partners dying too young, siblings and close friends taken too soon, generations unborn feel its negative ripple effects.”They therefore concluded that “these precious people may not have reached the level of icons or celebrities in the eyes of the world but in our eyes, they have surpassed all of that, they are heroes, our fallen heroes.”
