‘They are liars,’ says Joma Sison on govt claim on arrest warrant

EXILED Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) founder Jose Maria “Joma” Sison on Friday belied Malacañang’s claim that he has no arrest warrant, citing that it had been issued based on the charge of multiple murders that was filed against him in the 1980s. There’s a WOA [warrant of arrest]in connection with the fake charges in Leyte,” Sison told reporters in an online interview. Sison expressed disappointment and frustration over the government’s decision despite what he said were “successful” backchannel talks at The Netherlands last week. On Friday, Sison said that it was Duterte who was “ruining” peace negotiations and blamed the President for the failure of the “second year” of the talks. “It seems like there would be no resumption of peace talks if he (Duterte) will insist to have the peace talks in the Philippines,” he added.
