Stephen Kenny has expressed sympathy for the “terrible” situation Ireland boss Heimir Hallgrimsson and his players find themselves in after being drawn to play Israel, and feels the decision over the Nations League fixtures going ahead should be made by Uefa. The St Pat’s boss has also said that he will never be comfortable with the idea of being censored for an opinion, following the statement released by Drogheda United chairperson Joanna Byrne last Wednesday where the TD said the club’s board of directors asked her to resign after expressing her view that Ireland should boycott the games against Israel.
