We have a lovely, smooth puzzle by Zhouqin Burnikel and I enjoyed solving it very much. It’s exactly what you might want in a crossword that opens our solving week. But I finished it without understanding what the theme was. It turns out that I solved around the revealer clue without really seeing it because I solved using the crossings. There is definitely a theme there, and the revealer gives a good hint at it, especially if you say the theme entries out loud.
