The former Chairman of the National Patriotic Party (NPP), Cyril Allen, has clarified that former President Charles Taylor has nothing to do with the party and decisions it makes. Allen said the NPP is an independent political party that has great independent minds capable of making decisions for the party, and does not need the intrusion of its former Standard Bearer of the party. Allen noted that the NPP will tirelessly work along with the new arrangement to ensure that they take the mantle of leadership of the country. The marriage binds NPP, CDC and LPDP to a common front in the 2017 presidential and legislative elections. Already, the coalition has named soccer star George Weah and Senator Jewel Howard Taylor as its presidential and vice presidential candidates.
