Stuart Broad says England will look to “swarm” Australia’s batsmen with attacking fields to unsettle them early in their innings. It is a method that England employed successfully on their victorious tour to South Africa two winters ago, and Broad believes it is a tactic that can win the Ashes. “We had a theory in South Africa that when a new batsman came in we’d swarm them for the first 15 balls so if they make any mistake, they are out,” Broad said. “And if they score 20 off 15 balls, you can always drag it back. If any world-class batsman is going to make a mistake, it is going to be in the first 20 minutes.”
