‘Sufficient stock of fertilisers’


more-inThe Department of Agriculture received 680 tonnes of complex fertilisers and 92 tonnes of ammonium sulphate for distribution to farmers for this Rabi season in the district. In a press release here on Saturday, he said that the fertilisers would be sent to different parts of the district for quick distribution. There was also a sufficient stock of other fertilisers — 2,885 tonnes of urea, 1,140 tonnes of DAP, 1,340 tonnes of potash and 3,323 tonnes of mixed fertilisers in various depots. Normally, cultivation would take place on 70,000 hectares during the Rabi season and 52,000 hectares during the Kharif season. With agriculture activities being initiated in several parts of the district, we had sufficient quantum of seeds of paddy and pulses, said the official.
