(Tropical Tidbits)In the latest volley from this spring’s storm barrage, severe weather is set to crank up across parts of the Southern Plains. Severe storms are expected to erupt in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas on Tuesday afternoon. (Storm Prediction Center)“Numerous severe storms are expected this afternoon into early tonight across the Texas Panhandle into extreme western Oklahoma,” the Storm Prediction Center wrote Tuesday morning. By Thursday, the severe weather threat is expected to shift to the mid-South and probably diminish somewhat. The Weather Prediction Center suggests that widespread amounts of two inches or more are likely as this storm system churns eastward.
