Despite selling 45% more tickets in the first hour compared to Avengers: Endgame, the first 24 hours of Atom sales for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker were behind the first day for Avengers: Endgame. The initial rush of pre-sales implies that the die-hard Star Wars fans, the ones who the Internet likes to claim turned their back on the series after The Last Jedi, were as eager to buy tickets for this Star Wars episode as the last one, if not more so. The marketing is making sure that folks know that this isn’t some stand-alone Star Wars Story spin-off, but an “Episode” in the Star Wars saga. It’s not the end of Star Wars, but it is the end of this Star Wars saga. As such, Disney will be selling The Rise of Skywalker as the Avengers: Endgame of the Star Wars Saga.
