The event is a part of Goethe-Institut Bangladesh’s “Through Her Eyes - A space to watch and discuss films with women filmmakers of Bangladesh,” in collaboration with International Film Initiative of Bangladesh (IFIB). There will be a screening of the 2004 film followed by a Q&A session with its director, Shameem Akhter. “Shilalipi,” starring Sara Zaker, Jishnu Brahmaputra, Jayanto Chattopadhyay, Chanchal Chowdhury, Manash Chowdhury, Samira Haq, and Asaduzzaman Noor in central roles, is her first feature length film. Her second feature film, “Rina Brown,” was released 12 years later, in 2016. Both movies are based on the 1971 Liberation War in Bangladesh.
