In the video, the officer approaches the man and they speak briefly before a struggle and the cop takes down the man with the axe. She described the man as “unstable” and said he was uttering threats at pedestrians before the officer arrived on the scene. Lynn BoNita posted the clip to Facebook on Tuesday, writing that the incident took place at 4:45 p.m. at a bus stop outside of Fairview Park Mall. CTV News reports the man was charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and resisting arrest. BoNita can be heard cheering, “She did a good job though … On her own!”At the time of publication, the video had nearly 300,000 views.
