Colombo (News 1st); “The Sri Lanka Freedom Party will form a government in the future,” said Former President Maithripala Sirisena on Tuesday (30) adding the SLFP will explore the political sphere for progressive political parties. The Sri Lanka Freedom Party officially launched its party restructuring program on Tuesday (30) following religious observances at the Temple of Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy. The SLFP membership was led by Former President Maithripala Sirisena, and thereafter they called on the Mahanayake of the Asgiri Chapter of the Siam Sect, the Most Venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Mahanayake Thero. The SLFP membership then called on the Mahanayake of the Malwathu Chapter of the Siam Sect, the Most Venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Mahanayake Thero. The SLFP had briefed the Mahanayake Theros on their proposals for the proposed new constitution of Sri Lanka.
