According to police, Quader while giving the statement had pretended to be so with an aim to get rid of the murder charges. Quader told the court of Sundarganj’s chief judicial magistrate that he had been planning the killing for six months out of his political rivalry. The investigators claimed that Quader also cunningly avoided answering how he got two illegal firearms and did not even clarify the way he gave firearms training to the killers. Meanwhile, police kept an eye on Shamsuzzoha, once a personal secretary to Quader, over the assassination. However, Dhopadanga Union Parishad Member Idris Ali claimed that he saw Shamsuzzoha being arrested on Wednesday night, which police denied later on.
