‘Public funds off-limits to campaigns’THE Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) and the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Thursday warned government officials and employees against the use of public resources for partisan political activities in the midterm elections this year. He reminded citizens to supplement their complaints with proper documentation as it was “significant” in proving their claims. Meanwhile, the anti-graft commission head Jimenez said, “We would not spare anybody. Give us proof and we will act on it.”The PACC, the Comelec and other government agencies had signed a memorandum of agreement to implement election laws. Under Executive Order 43, the PACC has the power to conduct lifestyle checks, investigate and hear administrative graft and corruption complaints and recommend punishment against violators of election laws.
