‘Poor man’s skywalk’ at Loei draws tourists

Suranan Sareepim, head of Ban Pak Chom village, said tourists came to see a panoramic view of fog covering the Thai and Lao banks of the Mekong. On Saturday, temperatures dropped to between 9 and 13 degrees Celsius in the district, with fog covering the mountaintops. It thus became known as the “poor man’s skywalk”. The mountaintop is about 3 kilometres from downtown Pak Chom district. There is a parking ground at the foot of the mountain, and tourists can pay Bt50 each to be driven to the viewing area in villagers’ farm trucks.
