‘Paeng’ continues to slow down

MANILA, Philippines — Typhoon Paeng (international name: Trami) has continued to slow down on Tuesday as it moves west-northwestward, according to state weather bureau PAGASA. Due to this, "Paeng" may only bring light to at times moderate rains over Zamboanga Peninsula, Western Visayas, Palawan and Occidental Mindoro on Wednesday, PAGASA said. It is expected to bring light to at times moderate rains over Northern Luzon on Friday. PAGASA, however, said that as of 10:00 a.m., the typhoon’s eye was traced at 720 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes. It is only packing maximum sustained winds of 200 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 245 kilometers per hour.
