Pangilinan said on Tuesday he was optimistic that the listed telecommunications giant could exceed its core income target of P26 billion for this year, as its wireless segment continued to show growth. We [set our profit guidance for this year at] P26 billion, [while in] 2018 [it was] P24 billion…. I think we’ll do better than P26 million,” Pangilinan told reporters after PLDT’s annual stockholders’ meeting in Makati City. But under its new accounting system, its profit jumped by 41 percent to P18.9 billion. For 2019, PLDT is allotting P78.4 billion in capital expenditures, higher than the P58 billion it spent last year.
