‘Onyok’ exits PAR, trough to bring rains over Batanes

MANILA, Philippines — Although Typhoon “Onyok” (international name: Mitag) has exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), its trough will still bring rains over Batanes, the state weather bureau said Tuesday morning. ADVERTISEMENTIn its 5 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said “Onyok” left PAR Monday at 10:30 p.m. But its trough or extension will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Batanes. Pagasa said the center of “Onyok” was last spotted 695 kilometers north of Basco, Batanes. Pagasa warned sea travel remains risky, especially for small seacrafts, over the northern and eastern seaboards of Northern Luzon due to potentially rough sea conditions.
