A federal employees union filed a lawsuit Monday against the Trump administration, alleging that the partial government shutdown is illegally forcing more than 400,000 federal employees to work without pay. Federal employees are paid biweekly. Of the 2.1 million federal workers nationwide, The Post reported, approximately 800,000 are expected to be affected by the shutdown. “Federal employees should not have to pay the personal price for all of this dysfunction,” Reardon said. “Our intent is to force the government and the administration to make all federal employees whole.”Philip Rucker and Lenny Bernstein contributed to this report.
