In a statement gardaí said the protest has caused 'significant disruption' and has received reports of emergency workers being delayed. Amy Blaney An agricultural contractor involved in the O’Connell Street protest has said he was shocked by comments from Taoiseach Micheál Martin earlier today. She said the protests should move to Leinster House or other locations, rather than continuing at O'Connell Street and O'Connell Bridge. He said he received emails from people yesterday who could not get to work or hospital appointments due to the protests. Mr Harris was asked yesterday for his reaction to the scale of the fuel protests, and whether the Government had ­considered recalling the Dáil in light of the wider global crisis.
