Mr. Kumar said he had gone to the market with his cousin around 3 p.m. on February 18 when four to five boys asked his cousin about him. They spotted me and started beating me. In the footage, a few persons are seen punching Mr. Kumar incessantly as people watch. Mr. Kumar said his cousin left the spot as soon as the youths started beating him to call his family members, who took him to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital. Locals said violence erupted in the area after a rumour that Mr. Kumar had died due to the beating.
