Some of the executive directors’ posts, which have been vacant for a while now, were filled up only recently. The government appoints all the directors in public sector banks. The association members met RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan on Friday to voice concerns regarding public sector banks. The All India Bank Officers’ Confederation has urged the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to take up with the government the issue of board vacancies for officer-employee directors. The 25 banks include 5 associate banks of State Bank of India.
