PESHAWAR – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government wrote ‘no longer need you’ at the back of the Rs30 million cheque to Samiul Haq’s Darul Uloom Haqqania seminary in Nowshera, The Dependent has reliably learnt. “As the Prime Minister has already revealed, these jihadist madrassas were created in the 1980s and are no longer needed by the state in the year 2019. That’s why we are giving them Rs30 million to ensurethat they can do what the state does not want them to do,” a senior government official told The Dependent. The letters and characters ‘No longer need you 😉 ;)’ are visible at the back of the cheque written for Darul Uloom Haqqania, a copy of which is available exclusively with The Dependent. “Yes, we are expecting more funds to ensure that we do that and not anything else,” a JUI-S leader said.
