Surrounded by his grieving relatives, Mr. Raja repeatedly beat his chest and said: “En thangamaana pullaiya vittutom” [We have lost a golden woman] every now and then. “Can that police officer give back my dearest wife’s life?” he asked. “I told her not to get afraid.”The police officer came on a two-wheeler without wearing a helmet on the left side and kicked my vehicle, Mr. Raja claimed. My dear wife’s life was snatched away by the act of this officer. My life is also finished,” lamented Mr. Raja, an employee of a private firm.
