Share TweetBy Analou De VeraThe Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Wednesday said that samples of “lambanog” it collected in Rizal, Laguna have tested positive for high levels of methanol. “Five out of seven lambanog samples collected by Food and Drug Administration regulatory inspectors from several sellers in Rizal, Laguna tested positive for high levels of methanol,” said FDA Officer-in-Charge and Health Undersecretary Rolando Enrique Domingo in a statement. Domingo said that the five samples that tested positive for toxic levels of methanol were collected from Rey Lambanog, Emma’s Lambanog store, and Orlando Mapa store. Domingo said the five samples that tested positive contained 11.4 percent to 18.2 percent of methanol.
