Dr Mukhtar says new HEC chairman to be appointed only on meritISLAMABAD: Higher Education Commission (HEC) Chairman Dr Mukhtar Ahmad on Friday said that the Kashmir issue could be resolved through education and it should be handed over to the universities. “I am satisfied with my performance during the last five years in the higher education sector as HEC chief,” Dr Mukhtar told a questioner. To a question, the HEC chairman said that the new chief of the commission would be appointed only on merit. “I had visited all the institution for the development of the education sector,” he said. despite having an ability, many steps could not be taken, he said and hoped that the new HEC chairman would do so.
