Already, North and South Korea have synced their clocks to the same time as the “first practical step” towards the unification of the Korean Peninsula. One was the dispute over whether or not to pull out United States forces from South Korea as a precondition. Seoul was concerned about Pyongyang’s ongoing missile and nuclear tests, while North Korea was wary of its neighbour’s military drills with the U.S. Waving U.S. flags and South Korean flags, they demanded the impeachment of South Korean president Moon Jae-in and marched in some of the streets. The demonstrators mostly consisted of elderly Koreans who remembered the Korean War of 1950-1953.
