THE Duterte government’s “Build Build Build” is expected to create thousands of well-paying jobs that could prompt overseas Filipino workers to return home, a Cabinet official said on Tuesday. The Department of Public Works and Highways launched its “Jobs Jobs Jobs” employment portal, which initially cites a little over 11,000 positions sought by 10 contractors but is expected to host over 100,000 openings in the next few months. “Marami kaming flagship projects around the country … Lahat po kasama sa ‘Jobs Jobs Jobs’ portal (We have a lot of flagship projects around the country … all are included in the ‘Jobs Jobs Jobs’ portal),” Public Works Secretary Mark Villar told reporters. “Initial lang yung 11,000 kasi kaka-launch lang (the 11,000 is initial as we have just launched) but eventually we are expecting more than a hundred thousand,” he added. High demand for the workers such as engineers means salaries will be attractive, according to Villar.
