‘Inspirational’ Tehmina Janjua lauded for her services


Foreig­n secret­ary, who will retire on April 16, heaped with praise at farewe­ll ceremo­nyISLAMABAD:Graceful, committed and an inspiration for all – Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua, who will retire from her post on April 16, was heaped with praise at a ceremony held in her honour on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi described Janjua as a role model for diplomats and appreciated her services for the country. “I have always found her graceful, committed and sincere to the cause of Pakistan and Foreign Service,” he said. Janjua joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1984 after studying French literature at the Quaid-e-Azam University. In February 2017, she was appointed the foreign secretary, the first woman to hold the position in the foreign affairs ministry.
