Bollywood lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar has said if a law is passed to ban the burqa then it should also put a stop on the veil worn by women in Rajasthan. “I am not in favour of the burqa but the law should be for both the burqa and veil,” he said while interacting with the media. Akhtar also attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for giving the ticket to Pragya Thakur to contest the Lok Sabha election 2019 from Bhopal. “The BJP might have given the ticket to Pragya Thakur due to their compulsion but it is shameful. Javed Akhtar said the Lok Sabha election this year is going to be very important for the future of India.
