Heimir Hallgrimsson has refused to state definitively that he will be in charge for the autumn with the Icelander acknowledging that the positive mood towards him could change if the World Cup play-offs go badly. While Hallgrimsson has given the impression that he wants to stay for the longer term and there are senior FAI figures who want him to do so, he has indicated there will be no progress on a deal this side of the date with Czechia in Prague on March 26.
