Suspicions rose following Shmurda’s arrest on June 3 2014 after being charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon. Following Shmurda’s rapid rise to fame, the Shmoney dance was performed by celebrities including Beyoncé, Jay Z, Taylor Swift and Rihanna. “Some turned into Batman, some turned into Spider-Man, climbing the walls,” Sha Money recalled to GQ. Sha Money also remembered his last words to Shmurda minutes before his arrest. The video was discovered by Sha Money, best known for his early association with 50 Cent, and Shmurda later signed to Sha Money’s label, Epic Records.
