Moreso, the complaint could’ve resulted in a “slippery slope” for policing the conduct of lawyers. No further action will be taken against Warren Kinsella after the Law Society decided to close the file on a complaint filed by Andre Marin. The Law Society cannot confirm that a complaint was made unless it results in a public hearing or discipline. There are rules centred around one lawyer critiquing the professional conduct of another and so the complaint was filed to the regulatory body. If the complaint had gone to a hearing and been successful, it could’ve resulted in Kinsella being disciplined or disbarred.
