Cancelling the Olympics is definitely the right decision. I love my sport, and I’ve lived for these 2020 Olympics for ten years, but sport is not bigger than this pandemic. There had been lots of rumours among athletes that it was going to happen. You were sort of training in limbo. Various teams had already said they were pulling out of the Olympics — Canada, Australia, Brazil — so it was becoming a crazy situation.
