A college football player who was home during his winter break was shot and killed Saturday in Las Vegas. He later died at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. “Our Missouri State football family is in shock and mourning at the loss of one of our family members,” Missouri State Coach Dave Steckel said in a statement released by the school. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family in Las Vegas, and we know he is in a good place with God. Nelson had moved to Las Vegas while his mother was battling substance abuse issues in Missouri.
