‘Give to Bawumia what belongs to Bawumia’ – Afenyo-Markin on Gold-for-Reserve origins

"The president is telling us today that some gains have been made... through this Gold-For-Reserve policy," Afenyo-Markin noted. He then pivoted to what he saw as a critical omission in the narrative surrounding the policy's origins. "Mr Speaker, the Gold-For-Reserve policy; what they have failed to tell Ghanaians is that the Bawumia that they attacked is the brainchild of this policy," he stated. Using a familiar Ghanaian proverb to make his point clear and relatable, the Minority Leader called on the government to be fair and acknowledge good ideas no matter who comes up with them. "Mr Speaker, I would want to urge the government to give to Bawumia what belongs to Bawumia," he stated.
