-CEO ‘attacked’ studentNormal academic activities at the Barshell University (BUC) in Paynesville, outside Monrovia were disrupted on Monday, April 29, 2019, when the chief executive officer (CEO) of the university, Ceebee C.D. “Mattalid resigned because the administration has failed to pay him his salaries arrears over the last five months,” an authoritative source disclosed. One student, who asked to remain anonymous, informed the Daily Observer that the Monday’s incident was one of the regular actions exhibited by Rep. Barshell whenever a member of the teaching staff complained about salary arrears. When contacted, the school administration said they are investigating the matter before speaking to the press. It may be recalled that in November 2018, Dr. Obiasogu resigned from the BUC, but also accused Rep. Barshell of monopolizing access to the university’s funds, thus strangulating the day to day running of the school.
