They had a rock concert in Miami this afternoon during which they debuted the first teaser for F9. I am absolutely expecting the teaser for next year’s Fast and Furious 10, allegedly series finale, to be broadcast from the moon. This was about proclaiming that Fast & Furious has been away for three years and reminding folks that the actual movie series took itself a little more seriously than that goofy Hobbs & Shaw spin-off. Fast Five (2011), Fast & Furious 6 (2013), Furious 7 (2015) and Fate of the Furious (2017) were scheduled, intentionally or otherwise, like the old-school 007 movies. If F9 is a Fast Five-level gem and gets everyone revved up for the tenth flick, that may change.
