Randeep has said that he has sent a confidential report to the Election Commission of India (ECI), recommending the constituencies that could be considered “expenditure sensitive” in Mysuru district. It is the ECI that decides on such constituencies, he said and added that once the expenditure sensitive segments are named, the district administration would post additional teams to make note of the expenditure of candidates and political parties. There are eleven constituencies in the district. Mr. Randeep said he would hold meetings with parties once the calendar of events is announced and create awareness about maintaining proper records of expenditure that need to be submitted to the election office. Certain programmes have also been chalked out to impress upon young voters to exercise their franchise purely on the basis of merit.
