Rex Tillerson said Wednesday he would stay as long as President Trump wants him to, and Trump said he has “full confidence” in the former ExxonMobil chief executive. President Trump said on Oct. 4 that he has “total confidence” in Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. Over the weekend, Trump contradicted Tillerson on diplomatic relations with North Korea and its leader. Trump himself has groused that Tillerson is insufficiently supportive during national security meetings, speaking little and sometimes in clipped tones. “His is the traditional, establishment model,” one person who has discussed Tillerson’s views with Trump said of Tillerson.
